Sports and Chiropractic: A Winning Combination!

Over the past 20 years, I have seen many patients who play a variety of sports.  I am happy to see such active patients!  Whether you play golf or tennis, walk, run, swim, bike, practice yoga, pilates, strength training, etc. you all want to feel better, prevent injuries, continue your exercise routine, and achieve your optimal fitness goals.

Once in a while, you will get injured and come in for your adjustments in order to get "back on track."

Many sport injuries involve the spine, shoulders, arms, legs, hands, and feet. Repetitive stress from sports often causes spinal misalignments.  Nerves can become irritated, causing pain and therefore a decrease in athletic performance.

Chiropractic care and sports go hand-in-hand.  When your nervous system is working its best,  you can perform your best.  Chiropractic adjustments reduce spinal stress by removing nerve irritation and restoring joint range of motion.

As a Chiropractor, I am focused on finding the cause of your condition rather than just treating it with medication.

It's very fulfilling to help my patients feel better, naturally, without the use of drugs.

Chiropractic care is also essential for kids.  Children who play sports are often subluxated and don't even know it.  Think of all those repetitive motions, twists, turns, and falls! Gymnastics, for example, can cause excessive stress on a growing spine because of the multiple falls and over extension of the spine and other joints.  Football, martial arts, and wrestling are also stressful to young spines.

It's important to have your child's spine and nervous system checked by a Chiropractor to keep them as healthy as possible.

Many professional athletes including Aaron Rodgers, Lance Armstrong, Tom Brady, and Jerry Rice use chiropractic care so that they can continue to perform at their peak potenial.

Green Bay Packers Superbowl Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has received regular chiropractic care from his father, Dr. Ed Rodgers, throughout his athletic career.  "The structure of the human body, especially the spine, and its relationship to function can be impacted by the physical nature of accidents, falls, poor posture and injuries," says Dr. Rodgers.  "That's why chiropractic care is so valuable for many acute and chronic health problems."

In 2010, Chiropractors occupied the two top positons for the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) medical team.

Every NFL football team and the majority of college and high school athletic programs have a Doctor of Chiropractic available to treat their players.

I want to share with you Jerry Rice's quotes and Youtube video,

“Chiropractic care was key to keeping me in the game,” says Jerry Rice, who helped the San Francisco 49ers win three Super Bowl Championships between 1985 and 2000.

“The game of life requires the edge that chiropractic care provides,” says Rice.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CAsGNlQEnI
