Kathy's Recipe of the Month- Brownies Kathy Kerner
I finally have a good brownie recipe! You will find that using melted chocolate really makes a difference. The brownies came out great and everyone loved them.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees and use an 8-inch square pan. Spray or butter the pan.
Whisk together:
-
2/3 cup all purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Melt together over water bath of simmering water:
-
4 oz semisweet chocolate
-
2 oz unsweetened chocolate
-
10 tablespoons unsalted butter
Remove melted chocolate from heat and whisk in:
-
1 1/4 cups sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla
Then, whisk in, one at a time:
Continue to whisk until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Add dry ingredients and whisk until just incorporated. Pour into pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 35-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with wet crumbs.
Let cool completely and cut into squares.
Enjoy!
