Eating "Bugs" Is A Good Idea
Dr. Lindsay Wilson

Immune Health & Probiotics

Did you know that 80% of our immune system is in our gut? It's in all the good bacteria and yeast (aka microflora) that lives in our gut. There is such thing as microflora deficiency and the majority of us are living with it right now.

The adverse reaction to microflora deficiency is allergies, skin problems, irritable bowel, cancer, hypothyroidsim, autoimmune diseases and more. The ramifications of poor probiotic health causes disease from head to toe.

Do you enjoy eating food without the discomfort of heartburn and bleeding ulcers? Thank your gut flora for that because they are keeping the bad guys (like H. pylori) at bay. Never get sick? Thank your gut flora for that, too!

Did you know there are 100 trillion microbes that live in the human body? Thats more cells than it takes to make up the actual human body! People who have good health do so because they have a strong immune system, which powers up at birth. The power comes from all the good bacteria, yeasts and immunoglobulins that comes of breast milk. (If you were never breast fed, you need to get on probiotics today!)

Everyone associates probiotics with gastrointestinal health, but it's also good for weight loss, staying healthy during cold season, helps your mood when depressed, and helps your thyroid gland function better. The bacteria in your gut activates 30% your thyroid hormone, giving you more energy and in turn burning fat.

I do not agree with getting your probiotics from yogurt. The cultures in yogurt are put in the product live, but by the time the yogurt gets processed and they sit on the shelf for weeks, the chances of the cultures still being alive is very slim. If you are going to get your probiotics from yogurt, make it yourself and have it fresh so you know that you are really getting good microflora into your system.

To improve the ratio of good to bad microbes I recommend taking a probiotic supplement sold by a physician. Not all probiotics are created equal. There are specific strains of bacteria that are researched and proven to fight bad bacteria and keep you healthy. You want to look for the number after the long name listed. If the bacteria does not list a strain after the name, you have no idea what bacteria you are getting. Most supermarks and health stores do not have a strain listed after the name.

The most expensive supplement is the one the doesn't work.

We get our probiotics from Xymogen, which is an exclusive professional brand, with many patents on their probiotics. All the probiotics are in an acid ressistant capsule so the probiotic wont break down in your stomach acid and will wait until it is in your small and large intestine (where it should be).  Some of the probiotics we sell you only need to take every 3 days because there are so many in one capsule. You can get the best probiotics from a professional source at about the same price as you would get probiotics at the supermarket.
